The LTDF is a free-to-use service that requires no compulsory subscription or payment. However, as with many Messageboard/Forum sites, the host website (i.e. in our case, Proboards.com) will place product advertisements on the Forum unless you pay to have these suppressed. The nature of these Ads is beyond the control of the LTDF administrator (they are automatically generated based on keywords located in the Forum Boards, i.e. 'Taxi', 'Cab' etc) and therefore products that may be deemed 'undesirable' may be advertised on the site (for example, Private Hire firms!).

 

The Administrator of this site has, until now, paid for this 'ad-free' service as it has been a relatively minimal charge ($7.00 per month, or per 50,000 pageviews, whichever comes first). However, given the increased volume of membership on the LTDF, this cost is now increasing to around $21.00 per month as we are exceeding 100,000 pageviews on a monthly basis. Therefore a voluntary contribution from members has been suggested to try and keep this running.

 

A number of Forum members have expressed a desire to continue to keep these adverts suppressed from being displayed on the site and have asked how they can make a donation to aid this.

 

You can make this donation by visiting http://londontaxi.proboards80.com/index.cgi?action=aboutadfree or by clicking on the "Click Here To Make This Board Ad-Free" link that you will find at the bottom of the LTDF Forum page. This will take you to a page that explains how Forum members can make donations directly via Proboards. You will note these donations are in Dollars, this is simply because Proboards are American. This method of payment goes directly to the Forum host (Proboards) and credits the LTDF site immediately. It does not go into any Bank Account that I have access to and you can request sight of the Forum Credit statement at any stage if you wish by sending a Personal Message to myself (LTDF Admin).
